UNESCO Humanities Annual Awards (2023)

In 2023, Lebanon reaffirmed its role as a regional cultural hub by hosting the annual arts awards, organized under the sponsorship of UNESCO and the CSH. The event brought together a distinguished assembly of artists, cultural leaders, and international guests in a celebration of artistic excellence and creative expression.

The ceremony honored several prominent artists for their contributions to the visual arts. Among the highlights of the evening was the strong reception of works by Mohamad Azizeh, whose paintings drew significant admiration from attendees. His collection stood out for its depth, narrative richness, and distinctive artistic voice.

Following the awards presentation, guests were invited to an exclusive exhibition tour showcasing Azizeh’s works. The exhibition attracted an impressive turnout, including prominent figures in the humanities, foreign dignitaries, as well as the artist’s family and close associates. Visitors engaged closely with the artwork, reflecting a strong public and critical interest.

In a particularly engaging segment of the evening, Azizeh personally guided attendees through his collection, offering insights into the inspirations and conceptual foundations behind his paintings. This interactive experience added a compelling dimension to the event, fostering a deeper appreciation of the artistic process and the cultural narratives embedded within his work.

The event concluded on a high note, reinforcing Lebanon’s enduring commitment to the arts and highlighting the importance of international collaboration in promoting cultural dialogue and artistic innovation.
